The company failed, as an employer, to provide adequate information, instruction and supervision regarding the safe use of ladders. This was contrary to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ontario.ca\/laws\/statute\/90o01#BK52:~:text=(a)%20provide%20information%2C%20instruction%20and%20supervision%20to%20a%20worker%20to%20protect%20the%20health%20or%20safety%20of%20the%20worker%3B\">sections 25(2)(a)<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ontario.ca\/laws\/statute\/90o01#BK123:~:text=66%20(1)%20Subject,s.%202%20(1).\">66(1)<\/a> of the <em>Occupational Health and Safety Act<\/em>.<\/p><p><strong>Date of Offence:<\/strong> May 10, 2025<\/p><p><strong>Date of Conviction:<\/strong> June 18, 2026<strong> <\/strong><\/p><p><strong>Penalty Imposed:<\/strong><\/p><ul>\t<li><span><span><span><span>Following a guilty plea in the Provincial Offences Court in Stratford, Ideal Supply Inc. was fined $70,000 by Justice of the Peace Michael A. Cuthbertson; Crown Counsel was Judy L. Chan.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\t<li><span><span><span><span>The court also imposed a 25 per cent victim fine surcharge as required by the <em>Provincial Offences Act<\/em>.
